• What is PsPlus?

  PsPlus is a set of tools and methodology that augments PeopleTools environment and helps developers achieve higher productivity and quality of work. Current version of PsPlus comes with:

  • Unique and comprehensive Application Engine Workbench and Interactive Debugger (Called AePlus).
  • PeopleCode based Reporting System for generating colorful PDF reports using PeopleCode.

• What is PeopleCode based reporting system?

  PeopleCode Based Reporting System is a new concept of generating reports in PeopleSoft.

  • No SQR.
  • No Crystal.
  • No RTF File.
  • No XML-Publisher or XDO programming.
  • Just PeopleCode and you have Colorful Crisp Professional PDF Report.

  This is very efficient and powerful reporting system as compared with other reporting methods.

• What is PeopleCode Reporting System API?

  These are the APIs developed in PeopleCode that developers uses in order to generate PDF report.

• What is AePlus?

  AePlus is a productivity tool that augments various development activities in relation to Application Engine Programs. It offers several features that increase developer's productivity with high quality of work. In brief, the tool provides:

  • Fast Development
  • Source Version Control facility
  • Detect Data Related Issue quickly
  • Comprehensive Interactive Debugger

• How do I run AppEngine program using AePlus?

  AePlus allows you to run an AppEngine program in another PeopleSoft Database environment (called Target Database) without going thru the migrating step. This helps you to debug data related issues without changing AppEngien program in the target database. You can run AppEngine program directly from AePlus workbench at your PC or at server thru process scheduler. In addition, you can run AppEngine program in Normal or Debug mode, at client or server right from AePlus Workbench. Several run combinations are:

  • Run in Normal mode at Client in Source Database
  • Run in Normal mode at Client in Target Database
  • Run in Debug mode at Client in Source Database
  • Run in Debug mode at Client in Target Database
  • Run in Normal mode thru Process Scheduler at Server in Source Database
  • Run in Normal mode thru Process Scheduler at Server in Target Database
  • Run in Debug mode thru Process Scheduler at Server in Source Database
  • Run in Debug mode thru Process Scheduler at Server in Target Database

• How do I browse/analyze App Engine Source Code using AePlus?

  With AePlus you can generate AppEngine source code in text or html format. This enables you to browse/analyze AppEngine source code using your preferred text editor or internet browser. This also allows you to analyze multiple AppEngine programs simultaneously.

• What is SqrPlus?

  SqrPlus is a collection of tools and methodology that augments various development activities in relation to Sqr Programs. It offers several features that increase developer's productivity with high quality of work. In brief, the tool provides:

  • Sqr comprehensive Workbench
  • SqrPlus Compiler
  • Sqr Interactive Debugger
  • Sqr Document Generation System
  • Event Driven SQR's
  • Sqr Performance Analysis Tool

• What is Remote Server Agent?

  Remote Server Agent is a middleware communication system between client's PC that runs SqrPlus.PsPlus and Server machine where SQR or AppEngine programs reside/run. This facilitates:

  • Running/Debugging Sqr programs on non-windows environment (like Unix) while enjoying same Windows GUI front-end offered by SqrPlus Workbench/Debugger.
  • Running AppEngine program thru Process Scheduler in Debug mode.

• What version of PeopleTools/Sqr is supported by SqrPlus/PsPlus?

  Reporting System is compatible with PeopleTools 8.4 onwards. Application Engine Workbench and Interactive Debugger is compatible with PeopleTools 8.1 onwards. SqrPlus is compatible with all versions of Sqrw starting from version 3. SqrPlus/PsPlus client works with all versions of windows starting from Win 95.

• Is Unix supported for developing/debugging Sqr programs?

• Does SqrPlus include the SQR language compiler/interpreter?

  No.

• Does PsPlus/AePlus include the PeopleTools software?

  No.

• How do I Install SqrPlus/PsPlus?

  SqrPlus/PsPlus is delivered in 20 MB zip file and contains all the components of the software including readme.txt and other documentation. The components are:

  • SqrPlus - for Sqr Development (SQR Workbench and Debugger)
  • AePlus - for AppEngine Development (AppEngine Workbench and Debugger)
  • Reporting System - PeopleCode based Reporting System
  • Remote Server Agent

  Installing SqrPlus/PsPlus is very simple and quick. The Software has two parts:

  • Server part - that resides on shared drive and shared by all SqrPlus/PsPlus users. This drive also contains Sqrw/PeopleTools software.
  • Client Part - that resides on PC of each SqrPlus/PsPlus users.

• Does SqrPlus/PsPlus/AePlus modify client's Sqr/PeopleTools software?

  No.
